what i smell is leather, incense, nutmeg and especially smoke. i also
agree with other reviewers that it also vaguely smells like candlewax.
There is also a very pleasant crisp note in the drydown that clears my
nasal passages like cold outdoor air; it is a very agreeable sensation.
it is a good casual fragrance, and regardless of how much you apply it
never smells like you overapplied it. Don't be concerned with longevity
or sillage: it has a soft but stubborn persistence that lasts for many
hours, despite your early fears that you might not have applied enough.
On the contrary, 2 man actually amplifies gradually after the drydown. I
enjoy Gucci PH but i prefer this. I think the similarities between the
two have been exaggerated. Gucci ph is more linear then 2 man. They
don't smell similar until 2 man reach its drydown, at which point the
two share a sweet note i can't identify. But Gucci ph keeps a tobacco
flavor while 2 man maintains the incense and smoke. Also, 2 man has
superior longevity. I get more satisfaction from it; gucci ph smells
nice, but 2 man is thought provoking and evocative. It stimulates my
critical mind and encourages me to deconstruct and understand it. It
collects compliments of a similar nature too. "that smells good!"
followed by "what is that?" followed by a brief analytical discussion,
usually. I'm not kidding.
