To the WASPS studios last night for the Dundee Print Collective's exhibition Silk Road. In September the DPC showed work by 50 artists at Impact 9 International Printmaking Conference in Hangzhou-China, and those prints are now on display back in Dundee. I took a few photos and here they are:

AGK @ Roseangle Arts 13.11.15

The rumours are true!

You can get your AGK on this Friday 13th 7-10 at Roseangle Arts!

For four years Yuck 'n Yum became famous for its AGK (Annual General Karaoke). A video competition that asked artists not only to sing Karaoke but make their own Karaoke video too!

As part of this years NEoN Digital Arts Festival (@weareneon) we are holding an AGK retrospective… come along and sing along to one of the many videos in our archive. There will be a couple of new commissioned vids too!

Maybe you want to sing along to the 2013 winner, Lewis Den Hertog's Karaoke video for "The Future" by Leonard Cohen:

Screening of Tenebre (1982) @ Vision Building, Dundee 30.10.15

Friday, October 30 @ Vision Building, Dundee 8:00pm

Open invitation to a Halloween screening of Dario Argento's 1982 giallo film Tenebre. Upon release the film was badly received and was banned in the UK in the "video nasty" hysteria of the time. In retrospect it is perhaps one of the director's most accomplished films and also one of his most personal, with overtly self reflexive elements and a deconstructed narrative which spans Freudian psychology, sexual deviancy, repressed trauma, voyeurism, audience spectatorship and the fetishisation of violence and death. More traditional giallo tropes are also fully present and correct including a black gloved psychopathic killer, beautiful women in peril, prowling camera work, red-herrings aplenty, elaborate set pieces, sadistic bloody violence and a pulse-pounding prog/synth soundtrack by Argento's house band Goblin.

The film will be introduced by giallo aficionado Ben Robinson.

Following the film Il Discotto will play a a hotmix of 80s horror/trash/mondo/OST/disco also featuring live synthesizers.

Entry is free.
