Yuck 'n Yum present BYOB at NEoN 2014‏

On Saturday 8 November 2014, BYOB is coming to Dundee! It's the sensory overload phantasmagoria of the year.

Curated by NEoN and Yuck n’ Yum, Bring Your Own Beamer is an evening of light, colour and sound saturation, a projection wonderland where the walls, floors and ceilings are plastered with moving image. Come along this Saturday (TOMORROW!) and we'll cleanse those pesky doors of perception for you.

Be there or be square.

In other news...

OK there’s no easy way to say this. So sit tight and listen carefully because Yuck ‘n Yum has got some GOOD NEWS and some BAD NEWS.

Which do you wanna hear first?

Well alright here’s the BAD NEWS: 2014 will be the year of no AGK. This year there will be a big karaoke video competition-sized hole where the AGK should be.

But wait, don’t cry! True Karaoke champs don’t cry like that. Dry your eyes and blow your nose, because the GOOD NEWS is that in 2015 the AGK will be back, bigger and betterer and more powerful than you can possibly imagine. The time to practice your dance routines, singing into a hairbrush in front of the bedroom mirror is NOW. Go to it!

Come get inspired for your next AGK video this Saturday though; you've a while to plan after all!

See you Saturday!
Lots of love,

Yuck 'n Yum xoxox

Yuck 'n Yum - Bring Your Own Beamer (BYOB)

NEoN Digital Arts Festival and Yuck n’ Yum present…

Bring Your Own Beamer (BYOB)
as part of the NEoN Finale Party

Calling all VJs, film-makers, animators, visual artists, performance artists… LISTEN UP!

On Saturday 8 November 2014, BYOB is coming to Dundee and we want YOU to be involved. That B stands for Beamer and we don’t mean BMW so you can leave your flash car at home.

Curated by NEoN and Yuck n’ Yum, BYOB will be an evening of light, colour and sound saturation! We invite you to help us create a projection wonderland where the walls, floors and ceilings are plastered with moving image. So whether you’re a film-maker, VJ, visual artist or performer, we want to hear from YOU.

BYOB is an open source idea founded by Rafaël Rozendaal, a New York based visual artist who launched the event in 2010 in Berlin. The idea is fairly simple: find a cool space, invite artists to share their work and bring a projector! We can supply the equipment and we just want your ideas.

Yuck 'n Yum - THE ZINE FAIR HAS ARRIVED‏

Attention zinesters!

You’re cordially invited to join us this coming Saturday September 13th from midday, when we’re hosting the annual Yuck ‘n Yum Zine Fair at Abertay University’s luxurious Hannah Maclure Centre.

Up there on the top floor penthouse plaza we’ll have an array of zines, exciting events, coffee and comfy sofas, all bathed in glorious sunshine*.

*Sun may not be shining.

We’ll present a Q&A with the creators of the venerable football fanzine 'The Final Hurdle', when creators Martin Manzi and Steve Malone will talk about the longevity of the zine and how they’ve chronicled the trials and tribulations of being a Dundee United fan.

There’s also live music from the Plastik zine boys Kieran and Joe, bringing experimental twinkliness to the masses.

Manning the stalls will be a mass of red hot zine talent that includes Honey Press, StArt Magazine, the Anti Social Writers, Plastik, Alex Hetherington, Paul Milne, Jessica Taylor and Peony Gent, amazing risograph zines from the renowned Brownlee brothers, and some international flavour from Klaus Pinter and his zine all the way from Vienna. Yuck ‘n Yum will host a stall too!

All this is happening from 12 to 5 for free, so it’s a must. Be there!

IT IS HERE! IT HATH COMETH! IT HAS ARRIVED.

Lots of love,
Team Yuck 'n Yum xoxo
