thundersnow 28.11.10



Had the day off work yesterday as Dundee was hit by the rare meteorological phenomenon of thundersnow.

"The east coast of Scotland was battered by the rare phenomenon of thunderstorms, causing yet more chaos. "Thundersnow" is caused by freezing cold air moving over warmer water and is rarely seen in the UK, where warmer conditions are normally required to create lightning. Tayside Police's Dundee headquarters was struck by lightning during the heavy snowstorms yesterday. That resulted in all their non-emergency telephone lines going down." ...more

i got some thundersnow too, it was pretty amazing!

no more thundersnow any more, just snow and lots of it.
